I wanted to give her a tongue lashing or to fight back with an equally nasty retort. Heller! I am talking about my mother! The one who never allowed mosquitoes to bite me while I was growing up! Can you blame me if I’m over reacting? But I am way too old and smart to make “patol.” So, I pretended that I didn’t hear anything. I’ve learned that the best way to handle those kind of people is to give them a cold treatment. Act as if they don’t exist. My friend who introduced us said “ah she’s just like that! it means nothing to her. In fact, everybody likes her. ikaw naman, it was just a joke” HAR HAR! Well in that case, we can’t become friends because I’m sensitive and she’s insensitive. We simply can’t
My biggest hurdle in life is to accept the fact there will always be people who’d say something I wouldn’t like and shutting my doors is not always the solution. Friends tell me that if I’d continue on block listing people off my life just because I can’t stand sarcastic jokes, time will come that all my friends and “possibe-friends-to-be” will go away and I’d be left alone. I know. I just can’t understand why some people have to be mean. Jokes are supposed to make us laugh, not frown.
I am trying my best to learn to accept those kind of animals, este, people. I shouldn’t get affected with everything they say if I want to live a less complicated and happier life. Can I make habol one last thing? I want the world to know that my Mommy’s caldereta is the best!
